This is my superhero who originates from The Shattered Silence, I used him for my Summer Learning Journey task. I use kleki to design him and add details. I used all of my ideas to make him look as best as I could make him.
Term 4 Week 1-4 Activities, K Toru
Hi, welcome to my first term 4 blog post. In class lately I have done 2 pieces of poetry relating to me, I have also learnt about Piet Mondrian and I have done my own version of his art and I have been studying on the Manawatu Estuary and I even made a google drawing on it.
Poetry: The poetry I have done is called ‘I am’ and ‘I come from’. I made these poems on canva and for the ‘I am’ poem I used my decorative skills to light up the poem, for the ‘I come from’ poem I had too think back through my life and pick out interesting or unique (pop-out) memories.
Piet Mondrian Art: Piet Mondrian art is made with 3 colours (Red,Blue and Yellow) the art also consists of black thick and thin lines (Vertical and Horizontal) for my version I was allowed to use my own colours (Purple, Orange and Green) with a side of grey, black and white.
Manawatu Estuary: For my studies I used padlet to store my information, I learnt about life there, the uses, the features and the history. I used this information to make a google drawing. (An Estuary is a partially enclosed coastal body of brackish water with one or more rivers and streams flowing into it).
Yr 6/8 Term three activities.
Hello, at tech my group has been doing stop motion, we are learning to make a video or animation using Lego. I successfully managed to make an animation of someone walking across the baseplate, although it doesn’t seem like much I was very proud.
In my class we have been doing art based on Wassily Kadinsky’s great art pieces, we are doing painting and digital art using concentric shapes, for the digital art we used a range of different shapes constantly overlapping them.
Term 3 FBS K Toru
Kia Ora everyone I am going to fill you in on what’s been happening in Kuaka Toru, For Literacy this term my class have started our novel studies, we have 4 novel study books, 1 for each group, we had Charlotte’s Web, Danny: Champion of the World, Holes and Small steps. My group is doing Small Steps, Small Steps is the sequel of Holes but some of the main characters have been removed, literacy isn’t the most interesting we’ve also been doing art. During art this term we have been making Cambodian Elephant Zentangles, we first had to draw an Elephant and then we started to draw and make Cambodian zentangles, FBS has been doing Pause Breathe Smile which focuses on keeping your mind an body calm. During the day and the week we have little spaces of time to do Pause Breathe Smile and our Growth Mindset tasks, during Pause Breathe Smile, we learn to take notes, notice our senses and of course Straight Back, Soft Belly. For our Growth Mindset task we have been looking at the history of it, whether we have a growth mindset or not and what a fixed Mindset is. Do you guys do PBS and Growth Mindset.
Week 9 Post
Recently at my school my reading group was chosen to do a research project on technological change. We first had to do a project about the different technological eras, then a kind man from the MavTech Museum came to our school with an old camera. We used this camera to take pictures around the school for a slideshow of a day in the life at Foxton Beach School. For Reading my group have recently done a padlet on Taonga in New Zealand. We included what are some Taonga, what is Taonga and about some of the legends about it. This term my homeclass and most of the other classes have been doing skateboarding at the local skatepark. We had professional skateboarders teach us how to push, turn, jump and kickturn. For Inquiry this term we are doing Science the living world: The Bread making process, for the first few days we worked on our title pages and the process and ingredients of bread/bread making, after a few days we went into the hall and did some rotations to make our own bread. When it was my turn I had to knead the dough and later on form my own shape for my piece. During literacy, I have been able to do a project on my passion, which is Astrophysics. For this project I added what an Astrophysicist does, how much do astrophysicists earn, what degrees do you need to become an astrophysicist and the hall of Astrophysicists.
Recent 6/8 activities at Foxton Beach School
Last term in maths I learned more about statistics and probability, during maths I have also learnt about the concepts mode, median and range and my class has recently done a basic facts test and I improved by 14 which is a huge improvement! Especially in stage 8.
My class recently went to the park for the afternoon which was great because we set up tons of activities and sports to play like soccer, basketball, rugby and even more.
We have been doing a lot of Anzac day activities such as an infographic, perspective pastel art and worksheets. For perspective art we learnt to use vanishing points to make a cool sort of effect. We did these activities to show our respect for those who have fallen.
For literacy my group has done a text called New Zealand at War, it is a timeline of WW1 from New Zealand’s perspective. It shows where and when certain events occurred.

Reflection of 2022
| Hello! This post is about a reflection of 2022 at Foxton Beach School.
In term 1 my favourite activity was visiting the beach. I liked it because it was very relaxing and most of the time was quiet. In term 2 I loved the house activities and the house assemblies. The house assemblies were cool because we always sang songs and got certificates. The house activities were cool because the teachers always tried their best to find activities that were really entertaining. In term 3 my favourite activity to do was digital art. I did digital art on this cool website called Kleki, I would create all sorts of things ranging from Sonic characters to Anime characters. In term 4 I loved playing soccer, in total we played about 5-6 games. We lost most of them but it didn’t really matter to me, I only showed up to have fun. Playing Soccer made me happy but it made me realise I need to improve on some things. Overall 2022 was amazing |

Year ⅞ Camp
| Hello it’s been very busy in Kuaka hub also considering we went on camp. On November 15th the year 7/8 students went to the Foxton Bible camp for 3 nights and 3 1 ⁄ 2 days. At camp we did a lot of activities to keep the us entertained.
Camp was very fun and relaxing. I loved the activities and the food we had. My 2 favourite activities were Cloud 9 and swimming, overall I loved camp. Are you guys scared of heights?

Hi My name is Deeyari I am 11 years old and I am a year 7 at Foxton Beach School. I have an interesting sense of humor, I have an interest in football My mother is Indian and my father is English.
I enjoy learning especially if it involves writing, digital technology or history, My favorite subject is writing , I like writing because it is easy to understand what we need to write. My goal is to write a successful narrative with at least 5 examples of figurative language features. I usually have a challenge with learning new things. I am about average at football but I like to think I have the same skill level as the professional players.
I am looking forward to camp this term, I want to be the last one found in spotlight. My personal achievement is to get an award for writing, I have recently made my have cartoon digital portrait on this website called Kleki.
